Island locals and many others living in the Charleston area often call The Isle of Palms “The IOP” or “The Island.” However, some visitors mistakenly refer to it as “Isles Palm” or “Palm Isle SC.”

Along with Isles Palms, many people use other names that are just a bit off. This can make finding information about the IOP difficult. Other common name mistakes are Isles Palms, Palm Isle SC, Palm Isle South Carolina, Palms Beach, Palms Island, or Island of Palms. Whatever name you call the Isle of Palms, it is still the same beautiful vacation destination.

Other “Isles Palm” activities include saltwater fishing, shopping on IOP Front Beach, seeing a concert at the famous Windjammer inside or on their beachside deck, and much more.

Charleston Tour Pass

Easily rent a golf cart, kayak, beach umbrella, beach chair, or bicycle. Also near “Palm Isle South Carolina” is Sullivan’s Island. Visiting Sullivan’s Island Beach, Historic Fort Moultrie, or Charleston Light(SI Lighthouse) is a great way to spend some time. Sullivan’s Island is just across Breach Inlet from IOP.
